Raiding My Sister's Closet: Not Boots, Not Sandals

Tuesday, April 1, 2014

So you know that time of year where boots feel a little silly (and clompy), and the chilly nights are not quiiiite right for those sandals yet, and you need an alternative?  That is where we are at about this time of year (if you still have a foot of snow on the ground, I apologize).  Time to pull out the 'in-betweeners'.  I have to admit I like to wear in-betweeners all year long.  Especially in the summer because sometimes I am too lazy to paint my toenails.

This first pair is a recent buy. I have a feeling I will they will be completely trashed by the end of the summer from excessive love and use.  Clearly I should have bought two pairs.  Who wouldn't want a pair of filigree gold flats?  Gold is my new neutral. It goes with everything, flats are the most comfortable thing out there, and as a bonus, they are really cute.  And they look good among the Texas bluebonnets that are springing up everywhere.  Man, I love spring!

This second pair is another favorite pair of in-betweeners, because they have a real wooden heel.  This sounds like a stupid comment, but I have a feeling they are going to last quite a bit longer than most of my other flats.  They are slightly flashy without being too ostentatious, a smidge hipster (which I find irresistible these days), and kind of a classic look. They have become a closet staple.
