3-ingredient Pineapple Strawberry Smoothie

I totally hate it when some fabulous "3-ingredient recipe" is posted on Pinterest and it looks delicious, until I discover that one of the three ingredients is bananas.  I despise bananas.  Truly.

So today, I am going to share with you a 3-ingredient recipe that doesn't involve bananas.  For you banana-haters out there, you can thank me later.

Honestly,  I didn't have high expectations for this recipe.  I made this pork salad from Janssen earlier this week and had about 1/2 can of crushed pineapple left over. I am not the type to eat canned pineapple with a spoon, so I googled pineapple smoothies, but after browsing half a dozen or so, nothing really looked like what I was envisioning, so I just threw some frozen strawberries in the blender, added the pineapple and some milk and voila!  Instant smoothie.  It was so good that I am considering buying some crushed pineapple just so I can make this smoothie again. It was that good. It seriously tastes like it has ice cream in it, which is always a win in my book.

3-Ingredient Pineapple Strawberry Smoothie
a Landen original

1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup crushed canned pineapple
2 1/2 cups of whole milk (you may need  a little more depending on how thick or thin you like your smoothies)

Put the strawberries in the blender, add the pineapple and pour the milk over both.  Blend for about a minute, or until mixture is smooth.  Serve immediately.  Enjoy!

  2. I love bananas but refuse to add them to smoothies because they overpower any other flavor...so excited to try this recipe!
